I have a digital recorder SONY ICD px720. Love it, used it for 7 years. About year ago upgraded to WINDOW 10/new laptop, have not used the recorder since. Went to use the recorder this week, there is no WINDOWS 10 driver! I can't do anything with files on the recorder!!! Sony has great products but support ******. You need to buy my recorder back or supply me with a new one so I can use it again.

It's of no use to me now. Why no WINDOWS 10 drivers. I don;t want to hear how sorry you are, just supply a fix or the drivers. I have not found ANYTHING online on resolving this. I have the same issue with no support for Rel 10 as noted above. I also understand what the users manual says about supported OS. However, the Sony download site for this software also includes Rel.

7 (32 & 64 bit). So, the users manual is incorrect to not include Rel 7. If your answer to that is that Rel 7 did not exist at the time of the printing, well then, you would have to also say that about 8.x and Rel 10. My point is, since most aplication software is compatible with subsequent releases of new OS, if you're going to sunset a piece of hardware, then it is your responsibility to announce that sunset. Can you show me an announced sunset date? If not, let's get a patch out here to extend support for this piece of hardware and the accompanying software. I have had similar recorders in the past with a simple usb to computer cable, so the recorder is simply treated like an external drive.

No software compatibility issues.That would eliminate all of the issues, versions of operating systems would be irrelevant. How many people have an 'older' computer sitting around.

This should be something for SONY to consider in the future, great recorder but useless to me now.

Windows 7 driver is actually just an update and was released on 4/13/2010. The market date of this unit ICDPX720 is 3/20/2009. The unit is a year older than Windows 7 driver, that's why it is not included in the manual.
