Kitchenaid Model K5ss Instructions
I'm attempting a repair on my wife's K5SS Kitchenaid. The bevel pinion and center gear lost some teeth and no longer turns. I've followed your excellent video on the breakdown (there are a few differences, but I worked through them). However, simply can't get the center gear off the shaft.

The center gear do not have the 'T' cutout where the pin locks in into place. It's almost as if the center gear and the vertical shaft are press-fit. I can't see any way of separating them. Portal 2 Dlc Xbox 360.
Am I misreading the steps? The overhead view of the center gear is NOT the same as part 9709627 above. Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide. This was my Mothers mixer. It ran great, but had a bad bearing noise. The noise went away if you tilted the mixer to its side (while running).
So I have disassembled the entire mixer to locate the bad bearing & refurbish the mixers innards w/all new so as to get another 30-years of baking out of it! But, I thought the bad bearing was the bearing in the armature, but by 'feel', it spins real smooth & feels fine! And these Step by step Instructions I'm following here on link removed keep referring to the bearing in the 'Bearing bracket assy', but all I find inside there is a bronze looking Bushing held in-place by a plastic cap screwed down! Which acts as a bearing, because the armature shaft goes through this bushing/bearing in the 'Bearing-bracket assy'. So, the only two areas this bad-bearing noise could be coming from is these two I just mentioned. ANd I'm not finding any obvious signs of bad-bearings and/or bad wearing areas that would create this bad-bearing grinding noise the mixer was making. Sekirei Season 3 Sub Indo Mp4 To Dvd.
Thank you for your question! Replacing the worm gear is fairly easy.
Here is a link to a video that will help: link removed The mixer turning off after speed 8 is actually unrelated to the worm gear. A common solution to this problem is to tighten a couple of nuts that may have come loose that hold the rear bearing in place. To get to these nuts remove the rear housing. Once the housing is off look on the left and right side of the control plate (Black guy that has wires connected to it) and you should see a nut, one on each side, that hold the rear bearing in place.
These nuts can get loose and fall off into the rear housing. To correctly tighten these nuts unplug the mixer and push the speed lever on the highest speed. Tighten the nuts evenly about a 1/4 of a turn at time and then check that the motor will still turn with little effort by turning the governor that is under the control plate. You should be able to feel some resistance but not enough that it is difficult to turn.
Once this is done you shouldn't have the problem of it turning off at speed 8. If it is still giving you problems you should take it to the nearest service center. You can find the nearest service center to you by clicking here: link removed.
