Icon Best answer by Roaming_Robert 28 August 2013, 13:16 - I uninstalled some curious old 'Tom Tom Home Visual Studio Merge Modules' by the Contol panel / Programs and features. (What the heck are they there?) - I also restarted the machine. - Then the insallation succeeded.

Source Code Game Turbo Pascal here. (Again with 'Tom Tom Home Visual Studio Merge Modules') I think I have had something like this before with Tom Tom Home. This is not the way an update should proceed, intially leaving the customer with no software at all!

Please fix that! I have so far wasted an hour on failed installations of TomTomHome v2.9.6 - repeated rollbacks. Tried everything that I tried in March for v2.9.4 which had the same appalling behaviour. System Restores, complete uninstalls, CCleaner, manual deletion of all TomTom residual folders and registry entries.

It worked after several hours slog in March but this time even this fails. I am sick to death of TomTom - every upgrade has the same issues - upgrade fails and the application disappears. It's been like this for years.

Superb hardware rendered unusable by absolutely appalling software. I don't want to replace my TomTom with a Garmin but you leave me no choice. Yes, I have to agree with mikh43.

Bang on with their description that the software needs urgent work and NOW! I am using windows 8 and am trying to install the Tom Tom Home software for the first time on this computer but I continually get error messages saying something unexpected as occurred and the program will close. El Silenci De Les Vinyes Pdf. I am no techie but can normally resolve most IT issues by trial and error. This particular one seemingly has no solution.

To add to my frustration I am now on my second Tom Tom unit after the first one stopped working for no apparent reason whilst on holiday. Hmmm, I am starting to think I have bought an expensive white elephant (twice).

Signed, Annoyed Alfresco. Windows 7 Pro SP1. I have now - after 2½ hours hard slog - got the **bleep** software update installed. I am reasonably computer literate.

Yesterday's log: 09:43 TomTom Home demanded a critical update v2.9.6.3196 and wouldn't run without doing the update. This is in itself an unusual feature of TomTom software. All other software gives you an OPTION to update. This means you can do the job you were about to do before updating at a more convenient time (or not - if, as with TomTom, you know that updates will be a nightmare).

Update FAILED and 'rolled back'. Except it DIDN'T really roll back as it had removed the old version 2.9.4 without installing the new one. So you could not even trigger a retry. 09:47 MS System Restore to state prior to installation. Disable AVG Pro virus checker and firewall and try install again.

Hotspot Shield Elite 2.9 Full Crack Without Ads there. FAILED as before. 10:xx MS System Restore to state prior to installation and run native uninstaller. Manually delete all residual TomTom folders (including the horrible MergeModule).

Manually delete all registry entries relevant to TomTom that were not locked. Run CCleaner. Download latest TomTom Home version from web. Try install the downloaded copy. 10:51 Tried installing the downloaded exe as administrator and to a separate folder to the previous installations (which were all in the default folder). 11:05 MS System Restore to state prior to installation.
