I want an RPG PC game, but an old school RPG. What i call an RPG isnt what the industry now calls an RPG. And i dont know what to call the games that used to be called RPGS. We need a new genre because rpg now often means action/adventure or shooter! I liked escape from eshcalon, but i really want something like ultima IV (my all time favourite game) or what chaos chronicle seems to be promising. Group turn based strategic combat with movement allowance like panzer corps.
Which was an excellent game btw! Actually if i cannot find a rpg maybe Ill play a stategy game. Anyone know any RPGs ot srategy I may like? And not diablo or witcher!
(so linear and way too much video). There are very few turn based games these days, however the spirit of RPG's of old live on with Dragon Age Origins and even Dragon Age 2 (though not as good). While the combat plays in real time, they let you pause as often as you want, so you can control the action as if it was turn based. The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is pretty good and is played as a single person, rather than a party. It is real time, with no pause mechanic, but it is still quite good.
You may also like Oblivion or Morrowind (which are older). Mass Effect is also a party based series, but is futuristic.
I haven't played it, but it is supposed to be great. Since you mentioned strategy games, another series you might find interesting, that blends the two, is King's Bounty. The battles are turn based, and you have more of an RPG feel outside battles.
