Water Softener Stuck In Cycle

Water softener filled with water and won’t cycle. Broken lightbulb stuck. We replaced the heat tape on the pipes but then I noticed the water softener is.

Setting Water Softener Cycles

We were a private sub-reddit using mod-mail, and private messaging to help homeowners and businesses solve their water treatment problems. Due to a large influx of requests, we are now public.

Post your water woes here. When asking something specific about a part, or any issues pertaining to water treatment equipment, please provide a picture to help the process of troubleshooting. Snake Oil company equipment like Hague, Ecowater, Kinetico, Culligan, and the other outfits that are service specific to that company are hard to repair! If you've had it with that company, you may be out of luck with getting parts anywhere else in your county/township. These companies are assigned territories, and you have to risk calling in another company from out of town for repairs/OEM replacement parts. Aqua Systems Water Softener Stuck In Cycle

For system sizing and water treatment applications, we will need: • The amount of people using water daily in your home. • The type of pipe to be used for plumbing your treatment equipment, and the size of said pipe. • Water sample results from a reputable technician (not a Home Depot water test) • What is your budget? • DIY install, or installation by a tradesman? (I apologize in advance for not knowing the proper jargon for all the parts. If someone could direct me to a water softener tutorial and system diagram I would appreciate it.) I have a 3 1/2-year old GE system that was brand new with my house that has been sitting with the tank full for days and it will perpetually dump water into the drain if I leave it engaged. There is a manual valve on the back that takes it out of the loop and I have to close that valve or else it runs water all day long, but the the cycle never finishes and the internal tank never drains.

The panel LED is lit showing that it is trying to run a cycle. The cycles used to begin at 2 am and be done by 4:30 am or so. The clock is still set for that. What is happening here? A stuck relay? A valve that needs replacing?

Half Life Patch 1.1.0.8 Full. A softness setting that it is trying too hard to reach? Thanks for any pointers you might have. There are a few micro switches that ride on a cam on the main gear. The main gear has cogs on the outer diameter that are engaged by the motor. The micro switches tell the PCB what location the valve is in. Most likely it's a micro switch that is bad. But it really could be a multitude of things, some more expensive then others.

For example if the valve body is worn, that would be one of the more expensive, inevitable repairs. I wouldn't be disheartened though because these systems are truly built well, and are super easy to service; so we have that going for us. Customer service is also very good, and I implore you to use the tele or internet to contact them if you have trouble. They will make it right. As far as a water softener 101 type articles, videos, et cetera, I would try youtube first.

If all else fails, literally every 'water guy' in the Continental US should have experience with this system, but results may vary. But that hopefully won't need to happen.

Softener delivers hard water. By-pass valve is open. No salt in brine tank.

Injectors or screen plugged. Insufficient water flowing into brine tank. Hot water tank hardness. Leak at distributor tube.

Internal valve leak. Close by-pass valve.

Add salt to brine tank and maintain salt level above water level. Replace injectors and screen. Check brine tank fill time and clean brine line flow control if plugged. Repeated flushings of the hot water tank is required. Make sure distributor tube is not cracked. Check O-ring and tube pilot.
